Making villages
Plana » Devlog

Civilization! In case it's not clear, the image above is a map of a randomly-generated village. The lighter paths are more trodden-upon. Blue=wall, red=door, green=pathway and grey=room. Also there's a darker gray which is sort of an artifact of the room generation but I decided to leave it in since it could be used to make the rooms more interesting. Brown represents some kind of obstacle (cliff, water, whatever). So the blue-walled shapes are the houses, or huts in this case since they're very unsophisticated single-room affairs.
Next I will need to transfer this abstract data to the real Plana world which I have begun. One thing that's not clear to me is how I'm going to put roofs on the huts - the Plana engine is decidedly planar so putting roofs floating above the floor may be a bit weird.
It's a simple result but I'm very pleased with how it turned out - especially the paths. I'll be releasing a YouTube video of this (and more) soon.
